Employment opportunities

The Codrington School, the only International Baccalaureate World School in Barbados, seeks the services of qualified personnel for the following positions.

  • As from 1 June 2012: Director of admissions/school nurse/PA to the principal.

  • As from August 2012: Middle years/upper years teachers of art, science, mathematics, physical education, Spanish (language B).

The ability to be able to offer any two of the foregoing disciplines would be advantageous. One or more of these posts may be a part-time appointment and the teacher of Spanish must have a record of successful teaching of Spanish at IB diploma level.

  • Primary school (tentative only): early years homeroom teacher.

The successful applicants for the teaching posts will each hold at least a relevant initial degree – a master’s degree is preferred - and a teaching qualification. Applications will be neither acknowledged nor considered from candidates who do not hold both an academic degree and a teaching qualification. IB training and/or experience are highly desired. However, unless otherwise indicated, applications are also sought from well-qualified applicants who are committed to the IB philosophy but who may not yet have had the opportunity of teaching IB programmes.

Applications, which must be submitted on the school’s application form, available either from the school or from the school’s web-site, should be submitted by e-mail attachment (preferred), mail or fax, and should reach the school by 25 February 2012 latest. Applications arriving after this time will not be considered.

Job descriptions for the above positions are as follows:

    Primary School Teacher

    Secondary School Teacher
