Paula Kelly

PYP7 homeroom teacher

Paula was born and educated in Ireland where she received her Bachelor of Education degree. The initial years of her career were spent close to her home town where she was involved in mainstream education. During this time, she was presented with an opportunity to pilot a special language class which catered for students with Specific Speech and Language disorders and spent two years in special education. Following this Paula decided to embark on an international teaching career which took her initially to the Middle East working in Dubai and Kuwait. She spent seven years in New English School, Kuwait teaching a British based curriculum with the additional responsibility of Year Group Co-ordinator.
Her introduction to the IB/PYP programme came when she accepted a teaching post at the International School, Schaffhausen, Switzerland. She had the opportunity of attending a wide variety of inquiry related workshops in Zurich and the surrounding area during her three years in Switzerland. Paula started teaching at Codrington School in August 2008. During her spare time she enjoys all outdoor pursuits and embraces all opportunities to engage in the many cultural experiences which her career has offered.
