Born and raised in Lima, Peru, Ms Marcenaro has worked as an educator in the United States, Mexico and Spain in addition to her native country. She has more than 15 years of teaching experience with a broad age range (primary, secondary and tertiary levels), and has also worked for the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards, a US non-profit organization that seeks to raise the status of the teaching profession.
