The Middle and Upper years programme

The Secondary School programme at The Codrington School comprises a wide range of curricular and extra curricular subjects and disciplines based on the content of the Barbados National Curriculum and adapting the International Baccalaureate Organisation’s philosophy of teaching and learning.

As from September 2008, the school is offering Secondary School courses in years MYP (Middle Years Programme) one through MYP four (approximately equivalent to US grades six through nine/ UK years seven through ten). The school plans to add an MYP five programme in 2009-2010 and then add two further year levels, DP (Diploma Programme) one and DP two. It is anticipated that the programme will culminate in the International Baccalaureate’s Diploma for university entrance, with the school's first examination class being presented in 2012.

The school’s philosophy of providing a holistic education in the Primary School is continued in the Secondary School, as we believe that all children should be proper citizens and be socially and culturally respectful.

The class size of a maximum of 15 students per class is implemented school wide.
